The ATGT book
Preface
The success of the Association of Topographers, Chartered Surveyors and Design Technicians is the exemplary demonstration of the fact that a company based upon solidarity is also an efficient one, and that it is efficient because it is based upon solidarity. Established in 1947, it has succeeded in the acquisition of a very high level in expertise and know-how – numerous buildings in Paris (François-Mitterrand Library, Bastille Opera House, Arab World Institute, France’s Stadium…) owe it a lot for its topographical surveys – while preserving its ideals (working differently) and its values (solidarity and respect of each one’s dignity).
Today, just like yesterday, the ATGT puts the human being at its project’s core. It is its honour and its strength. It is a human adventure, both militant and entrepreneurial, which is splendidly recounted in this book, which I greet with pride and happiness.
Long live ATGT!
